ISSA Names New European Board Members

ISSA has announced that GŸnter Glšckner will succeed Keith Baker as chairman of its European Board of Representatives. The appointment is effective at the conclusion of ISSA/INTERCLEAN(r) North America 2008, being held in Las Vegas, NV, USA, September 8-11.
Since 2006, Glšckner has served as the German representative on ISSA's European board. He is also the owner and managing director of the innovative and award-winning firm Solution Glšckner GmbH (www.solution-glockner.de), which specializes in the production of detergent-free cleaners for distribution across Europe. Said Glšckner: "I am honored to have been selected to chair ISSA's European board at such an exciting time of growth and opportunity for the association. There is much more that we intend to do to improve and professionalize the cleaning industry in Europe, but with the ongoing support of ISSA colleagues around the globe, we are definitely on the right path."
At the same time, Andrew Dunning will follow current chairman Baker as the United Kingdom representative on the board. Dunning is director of distributor sales with Numatic International Ltd. (www.numatic.co.uk), the manufacturer of over 150 different domestic, commercial, and industrial cleaning and maintenance machines, including the famous "Henry" vacuum.
Commenting on the two appointments, Baker said: "GŸnter has a deep understanding of the leadership role that ISSA plays in the cleaning industry and the multiple benefits that membership brings. His contacts, strong interpersonal skills, and energy will play a key role in the further strengthening of our services to existing and future members. And within the UK cleaning sector, there are only a handful of professionals who are as respected as Andrew Dunning. To have someone of his caliber agreeing to serve on the board speaks volumes for the vision that ISSA has for the future of our industry."
