Company Profile
Moissonnier, A New Building To Continue Its Development
In January 2000, Stephane DUVAL took controlling ownership of MOISSONNIER, founded in 1944 to supply the hair dressing business. At that time the manager applied a strategy to expand the activities of the company in this niche market.

Since 2000, the turnover of the company has increased by 70% and the firm is extremely vigorous in the export market which represents 30% of its turnover. Today MOISSONNIER is well established as the European specialist of natural bristles and synthetic fibres mixtures.
In order to continue its development MOISSONNIER has taken the decision to build a new factory. The existing building has become too small. After a year and a half of construction, MOISSONNIER is now processing its fibres in a new building of 1200 m2, based closed to the highway.
In addition to this building, investment has been made in machinery to increase the capacity of production and performance of the company. "So with this new fabulous working tool the firm can continue its growth in the mixtures business," says Stephane DUVAL.
MOISSONNIER distribute RILSAN__from MONOFIL TECHNIK and flagg it to customer's specification.
The volume of paintbrush mixtures the company supplies increased by 22% in 2007. The manager of the company has noticed a big evolution in paintbrush mixtures due to development of water based paints, and magnified by difficulties with the availability and pricing of natural bristles. Now synthetic blends and synthetic mixtures are a popular solution against natural bristles, and will represent 40 to 50% of production volume done by European paintbrush makers in the years to come.

| New Building at Moissonnier |
MOISSONNIER offers a full range of mixtures to brush makers in horse hair/synthetic, tapered filaments, bristles/hollow PBT, bristles/PET chemecally tipped or hollow PBT pure. And the new investments in top processing machines enable the company to tip (tipping is grounding the filament to a fine point), flagg (flagging is splitting the top of the filament which allows to pick up more paint and also to have a smoothly paintbrush), sand and mix all types of filaments.
Over several years the firm has developed a partnership with DuPont de Nemours. MOISSONNIER used to tip, flagg and mix Orel-T, Orel-R, Chinex, Tynex-R, Tynex-T. These paintbrush filaments are mainly used for professionals. The tapered filaments offer a good paint pickup, cleanability, and taper towards the tip for controlled paint hold and release.
The firm also supplies Nylons and Polyesters from STP, specially the Hollester whose specific weight is a benefit for customers. MOISSONNIER introduced a mixture as a bristle imitation produced with bristles and PBT chemically tipped.
Since 2005, the company has supplied artist & school ferrules and painter ferrules from KRIEGLER. Moissonnier offer more than 2000 different sizes and specifications of top quality flat ferrules for paintbrushes.
